At 2:30PM on Saturday, April 27, Station 52 was dispatched to the area of Greenhill Road and Ashbridge Road for the smoke investigation. The caller reported a large smoke column to the east of their location. Engine 52-2 quickly responded along with Assistant 51 and Assistant 53, Brush 51 was then requested to the scene as both Assistant Chiefs arrived and reported a large amount of smoke from a heavily wooded area. Assistant 53 arrived and took "Phoenixville Pike Command" while Assitant 51 took operations.
As Engine 52-2 and Brush 51 started to make progress on the fire Command requested multiple units including the following: Station 52, Station 51, Tac 4, Engine 4-5, Brush 5, Brush 6, Brush 35-2, Brush 35-3, Brush 39, Tac 39, Engine 39-2, Tanker 39, Brush 56, and Station 55. This also brought the Forestry Crew from District 17 to the scene. Units made progress on the fire and the assignment was returned in full by 6:18PM.
Special thanks to the Longwood Fire Company, Goshen Fire Company, and the Malvern Fire Company for covering the WCFD local while we were committed at the scene. Photos of the fire area courtesy of Station 51.
