The caller reported a large smoke column to the east of their location. Engine 52-2 quickly responded along with Assistant 51 and Assistant 53, Brush 51 was then requested to the scene as both Assistant Chiefs arrived and reported a large amount of smoke from a heavily wooded area. Assistant 53 arrived and took "Phoenixville Pike Command" while Assitant 51 took operations. As Engine 52-2 and Brush 51 started to make progress on the fire Command requested multiple units including the following: Station 52, Station 51, Tac 4, Engine 4-5, Brush 5, Brush 6, Brush 35-2, Brush 35-3, Brush 39, Tac 39, Engine 39-2, Tanker 39, Brush 56, and Station 55.
