At 10:24pm on Sunday, May 23, 2010 stations 51, 52, 53, 55, and Tower 54 were dispatched to Chaps Lane in the Brandywine at Thornbury development for a dryer fire. Within three minutes of dispatch Engine 52-1 responded with a crew of 5 firefighters led by Firefighter Alex Creager. While enroute WCFD units were advised that the police department was onscene requesting the assigment be upgraded to a building fire. Engine 52-1 then arrived on scene and stretched an 1 3/4 attack line to the second floor of the dwelling. Ladder 53 arrived shortly after and laddered the building and provided ventilation. The fire was then placed under control at 10:47. Relocates from West Bradford, West Whiteland, Downingtown, and Lionville were placed into the WCFD stations. Units cleared around 12:00am.
