At 1130 hours, while the Fame Fire Co. (53) was operating as a RIT team for a fire in Lionville's (47) first due, units from Fame, First West Chester (51), Good Fellowship (55) and the Good Will Fire Co. for an engine were dispatched for a building fire at 510 E Nields St. Callers reported The Willows One Apartments, with heavy black smoke from the second floor as well as fire breaking windows. Chief 51 arrived onscene to confirm a three story apartment building with fire showing from the second floor DC corner. Chief asked for the working fire dispatch which brought the balance of the Good Will as well as Goshen (54/56) for two engines and Medic 91. WCFD crews knocked down the fire, which was contained to one unit, and completed primary and secondary searches of the building. Crews then began overhaul of the fire apartment while both Chester County and PA State Police Fire Marshals investigated. The last WCFD units went available at 1358 hours. Also a Happy 175th Anniversary to the Fame Fire Company.
