Saturday morning the Good Will Fire Company members traveled to the West Chester Fire Training Center to participate in a live burn drill, organized by Lieutenant Chris Good, on fires in balloon constructuion dwellings. The members were split into three groups once they arrived and immedietaly began to train.

Lieutenant Gerry DiNunzio had group #1 which was the search and rescue group. This group's task was to search for any missing occupants in the dwellings. They used multiple tools to accomplish this task including a 2 1/2 gallon water fire extinguisher, a hook, a halligan bar, and rope.

Captain Jon Stafford had group #2 which was the primary fire attack hoseline. This group's task was to extinguish the main fire area using a 1 3/4 hose line. The group needed to be very aggresive to stop the fire from into other areas of the building.

Assistant Chief Paul Haring had group #3 which was the secondary attack or back-up hoseline. This group's job was to go to the floor above the fire and extinguish any fire that has spread to the floor above the main fire area. This group also used a 1 3/4 hose line to accomplish their task. Much like group #2 this group had to be very aggresive to make a stop on the fire.

Firefighters gained alot of knowledge from this drill and learned about how common balloon frame dwellings are in the West Chester area.
