| 06/17/2026 - Just before 6:00 PM, the West Chester Borough Fire Department was dispatched to the 500 block of East Barnard Street for a reported fire alarm activation. While units were responding, additional reports indicated smoke was visible in the basement, prompting the incident to be upgraded, add additional fire units to the scene. Upon arrival, crews located a smoke condition in the basement that was determined to be the result of cooking activity in an apartment above. Firefighters checked the area, cleared the smoke from the building, and made certain there were no remaining hazards. The incident was placed under control quickly, and WCFD units cleared. 06/19/2026 - This afternoon, the West Chester Borough Fire Department responded to assist the Goshen Fire Company with a reported house fire in the 1000 block of Bow Tree Drive in East Goshen Township. WCFD personnel assisted with fire suppression, search operations, and overhaul efforts alongside mutual aid companies. Crews operated on scene for an extended period before returning available. 06/25/2026 - Just after 5:30 AM, the West Chester Borough Fire Department, Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and West Whiteland Fire Company were dispatched to the DK Diner for a reported building fire. Crews arrived to find a smoke condition inside the building. After further investigation, the source of the fire was located in a crawl space beneath the structure. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and checked for any extension or additional hazards. There were no injuries reported. 06/27/2026 - Just before 8:00 AM, the West Chester Borough Fire Department, Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and Longwood Fire Company were dispatched to the 300 block of Carlyle Drive in Westtown Township for a reported electrical fire at a residence. Upon arrival, crews investigated and determined there was no active fire. As a precaution, power was secured to two homes affected by the incident, and no additional hazards were identified. The incident was turned over to PECO and the homeowners. No injuries were reported, and all units cleared the scene within one hour. |
