12/01/2023 - Early this morning the West Chester Borough Fire Department’s Good Will Fire Company #2 of West Chester responded to a vehicle fire in the area of Chester County Hospital. Engine 52-1 W/4 handled this car fire early this morning.

12/03/2023 - At 1:11 PM the West Chester Borough Fire Department, Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and the West Whiteland Fire Company (RIT) were alerted for a house fire in the 700 block of Brettingham Court, East Bradford Township.
Crews reported there was a fire in a microwave that was out. The assignment was held to West Chester Units as crews secured the appliance and vented smoke from the property. Engine 52-1 W/4 arrived as the First Due Engine. Air 52 W/3 also made the response.

12/05/2023 - This evening at 9:19 PM the West Chester Borough Fire Department along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute were dispatched for an appliance fire at West Chester University, 700 block of South New Street, West Chester Borough. Crews located a burned motor in a washing machine. The appliance was secured and no other hazards were found. Engine 52-1 W/5 arrived as the First Due Engine. Air 52 also made the response.

12/16/2023 - At 12:30 PM the West Chester Borough Fire Department and Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute were alerted to assist the West Whiteland Fire Company with a reported house fire in West Whiteland Township. Crews assisted with providing a Rapid Intervention Team and assisting with overhaul. Engine 52-1 W/6 and Air 52 W/3 made the response.

12/18/2023 - West Chester Borough Fire Department responds to a Carbon Monoxide incident this afternoon in the 100 block of East Nields Street, West Chester Borough.

12/21/2023 - The department was originally dispatched for a fire alarm in the 1000 block of Barnview Lane, Westtown Township. While responding the incident was upgraded to a chimney fire alerting the remainder of the WCFD, Good Fellowship Ambulance and the Goshen Fire Company. Once on-scene crews determined there was no problem or hazard and the assignment was cleared.

12/26/2023 - This morning just at 5:43 AM the West Chester Borough Fire Department, Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and West Chester Borough Police Department were dispatched to a report of smoke in the building at a property in the 50 block of Patton Alley, West Chester Borough. As the first chief officers arrived the incident was upgraded to a building fire with entrapment. Crews found heavy smoke and fire conditions inside the building while searching for the victim. The victim was located, removed from the property and transported to a local hospital by EMS. Sadly the victim died from injuries sustained in the fire. Our thoughts are with the family during this time. The department operated at the scene until 12:00 PM and a few emergency responders received minor injuries during the incident. The incident is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office. Engine 52-1 W/4 arrived as the First Due Engine. Engine 52-2 W/3, Air 52, Utility 52 and Assistant 52 also made the response.
