06/02/2023 - Early this morning the WCFD was alerted to assist the Goshen Fire Company with a house fire in East Goshen Township. Engine 52-1 arrived as the First Due Engine. Air 52 and Engine 52-2 also made the response.

06/02/2023 - Just after 9:30 AM this morning, the WCFD along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute were dispatched to an auto accident with entrapment in the 200 block of East Market Street, West Chester Borough. Two people were freed from the vehicle by our volunteers and transported to local medical facilities. Accident is under investigation by WCPD.

06/06/2023 - At approximately 10:24 AM WCFD’s Air/Light 52 was dispatched to assist on a house fire in Kennett Township, Chester County.

06/10/2023 - The WCFD along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and West Whiteland Fire Company (RIT) were alerted to a house fire in the 200 block of West Washington Street, West Chester Borough this evening at 8:41 PM. Chief 51 (Pelna) arrived a confirming the source of the incident was the stove and there was a light smoke condition inside the property. Asst. 53 (Scanlon) arrived taking the command. The assignment was held to Ladder 53 and Engine 52-1. Volunteers of the WCFD secured the stove and ventilated the property.

06/13/2023 - At approximately 8:20 AM this morning, the West Chester Borough Fire Department along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and West Whiteland Fire Company were alerted for a house fire in the 500 block of West Market Street, West Chester Borough. Assistant 51 (McClure) arrived on scene reporting a light smoke condition visible from outside the property. After further investigation a fire was located inside the kitchen. Assistant 52 (DiMeo) arrived at the scene and assumed command.
WCFD volunteers arrived extinguishing the fire and ventilated the property. One person was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation and a family dog was rescued from the property. The incident is being investigated by the Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office.
All units cleared the scene at 9:30 AM. Engine 52-1 arrived and assumed the First Due Engine Assignment while Assistant 52 held command. Engine 52-1 stretched a line to the fire floor and extinguished the fire. Air 52 and Engine 52-2 also made the response.

06/17/2023 - At approximately 6:30 PM the department was alerted for a brush fire in the 1000 block of Squire Cheyney Drive, Birmingham Township. LT. Wilson (Station 51) arrived with Brush 51 reporting a small pile of tree branches burning in a rear yard, reducing the rate of all other apparatus. The pile was extinguished without incident and all units cleared a short time later.

06/17/2023 - WCFD along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute responded to the 200 block of Yorkminster Road, East Bradford Township, for a electrical fire. LT. Smiley arrived on Engine 52-1 taking command as crews investigated. The incident was found to be a problem with a light switch which was secured by our volunteers. All units cleared a short time later.

06/18/2023 - At approximately 3:56 PM, the West Chester Borough Fire Department, Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and West Chester Borough Police Department responded to an accident reported with entrapment on Downingtown Pike in the area of McCardle Drive , East Bradford Township. Chief 51 (Pelna) arrived on-scene and assumed command of the incident requesting additional EMS units. Volunteers of the WCFD worked quickly to rescue three patients who were trapped in the involved vehicles. A total of five patients were transported to a local hospital by EMS. Assisting West Chester at the scene were Goshen Fire Company EMS, Uwchlan Ambulance Corps and West Chester Fire Police. The accident remains under investigation by WCPD.

06/24/2023 - Just after 9:30 AM this morning, volunteers of the WCFD were dispatched with the Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute for an auto accident with entrapment on Route 202. One person was safely rescued from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital by EMS. Assisting the WCFD were West Goshen Township Police Department and the West Chester Fire Police.

06/29/2023 - This morning at 9:14 AM the department responded to and auto accident reported with entrapment in the 100 block of West Rosedale Ave., West Chester Borough. Those involved were treated and transported to a local hospital by Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute. WCFD crews assist with debris and fluids on the roadway. All WCFD units cleared at 9:33 AM.
