In December Station 52 responded to 43 Calls for service

On 12/3/21 At approximately 10:30 on December 3, 2021, the WCFD along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute were dispatched for a gas leak in the 50 block of North Wayne Street, West Chester Borough.Crews arrived to find a contractor struck a six inch gas main in the street causing the leak. As a precaution area residents were evacuated to a temporary shelter until the leak could be contained. At 12:30 PM the incident was turned over to PECO response crews and the evacuation order was lifted.

On 12/4/21 Station 52 was dispatched to the 1200 block of Bridgewater Drive, West Goshen Township for a reported trash fire. Assistant 52, Engine 52-2(Lt T. Crum) and Tanker 52(FF E. Cornett) quickly made the response. Units arrived to find a Commercial Lawn Mower on fire and stretched an 1 3/4" trash line.

On 12/6/21 the WCFD along with Chester County Department of Emergency Services Hazmat team gathered at Arkema Inc. of West Chester. Crews received a tour of the facility and the facility's fire suppression system.

On 12/9/21 Air 52 assisted Station 53(Fame Fire Co.) at the West Chester Fire Department Training Center. Air 52 filled cylinders while 53 units conducted a Live Fire Training.

On 12/11/21 At approximately 12:00 PM the WCFD, Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute, West Chester Borough Police Department along with mutual aid were dispatched to the Sharpless Works Apartments, 300 East Evans Street, West Chester Borough for a reported building fire. While WCFD Chief Officers were responding, information was provided that a person was still inside the apartment. An unconscious tenant was located in a bedroom and rescued by a WCFD firefighter. The person was evaluated by EMS and turned over to WCPD. The incident was down graded quickly as the source of the incident was found to be items left on the stove. WCFD ventilated the apartment and cleared a short time later.

On 12/12/21 WCFD along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and West Chester Borough Police Department participated in the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce touch a truck event in West Chester.

On 12/20/21 The WCFD traveled to the A. Duie Pyle facility in Station 52's First Due. Crews were given a tour of the building to help us in case of an emergency.

On 12/23/21 At approximately 4:19 AM this morning, the WCFD along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute, West Chester Borough Police Department and area departments were dispatched to a building fire at the University Court Apartments, 700 block of South Franklin Street, West Chester Borough. WCFD Chief Officers arrived to find heavy fire conditions from the roof of the building. Engine 52-2(FF M. Pearce) arrived as the first due engine and Stretched an 300' 1 3/4" primary attack line. Engine 52-1(Capt P. Widmayer) arrived as the fourth due engine and laid a secondary supply line to Engine 53 in the rear of the building. Three (3) firefighters were evaluated for minor injuries and released. No civilian injuries were reported. A second alarm was alerted before the fire was placed under control at approximately 5:45 AM. Air 52(FF C. Brogan), Squad 52(FF A. Smiley) and Assistant 52 all made the response. 52 units operated on scene for approximately 7 hours.
