Station 52 responded to 35 Calls for service in June.

On 6/4/21 at approximately 10:57 AM the WCFD was dispatched to the 1000 block of Lambourne Road, Birmingham Township for the reported Hazmat incident. Chester County Hazmat confirmed the powder was not a threat and is believed to be packaging material from the mail.

On 6/5/21 The WCFD was dispatched to the Edge of West Chester, 200 East Rosedale Ave, West Goshen Township for smoke in the building. Fire crews located a smoke condition on the fourth floor when arriving. After investigating, the cause of the smoke was found to be from the HVAC units. The source was secured and the building was turned over to maintenance. The department also responded to a transformer fire and alarms throughout the response area due to power outages.

On 6/7/21 Station 51 was dispatched to relocate Delco Station 41 (Newtown Square Fire Co.) while they operated at a 2 alarm fire.

On 6/12/21 The WCFD along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute held a drill on East and West Gay Street to prepare for the Borough’s Gay Street closure next week. Crews practiced apparatus placement, ladder placement and stretching hose lines.

On 6/16/21 Tanker 52 assisted with the closing of Gay Street for the outdoor dining event. Later in the evening WCFD attended “Meet Your First Responders Night” this evening at John O. Green Memorial Park. The department along with West Chester Borough Police Department and Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute displayed equipment and spoke with members of the community.

On 6/18/21 The WCFD was dispatched to the 100 block of Turner Lane, West Goshen Township for the reported building fire. Crews responded for a report of flames coming from a smoke stack, which was found to be normal operations.

On 6/19/21 The WCFD along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and surrounding agencies. The Enterprise Products 2021 Northern Regional Live Emergency Response Exercise was hosted by the Philadelphia Operations Area in partnership with Chester County Department of Emergency Services.

On 6/20/21 At approximately 8:23 PM in the evening, the West Chester Borough Fire Department along with West Chester Borough Police Department, Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and the West Whiteland Fire Company were alerted for two separate transformer incidents in the 100 Block of East Gay Street, West Chester Borough. Crews operated on location for several hours.

On 6/25/21 Station 52 along with Station 53 and Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute, were dispatched to the 900 block of Paoli Pike for the reported accident with entrapment. Crews extricated 1 victim from the vehicle.

On 6/29/21 The WCFD was dispatched to assist Stations 54/56 (Goshen Fire Co.) with a reported house fire. Engine 52-2 (FF M. Pearce) arrived as the second due engine. A fire in the garage with knocked prior to arrival. Crews assisted with checking for extension and opening up.

On 6/29/21 The WCFD was dispatched to the 100 Block of North Church St. for the reported Building Fire. Engine 52-1 (Capt P. Widmayer) arrived as the First Due Engine. Crews had fire in the attic that was quickly extinguished. Engine 52-2, Air 52, Squad 52 and Assistant 52 all made the response.

On 6/30/21 The WCFD was dispatched to assist Stations 54/56 (Goshen Fire Co.) for the reported Commercial Building Fire. Engine 52-2 (FF A. Smiley) arrived as the Second Due Engine. The crew of Engine 52-2 ran a Secondary attack line and assisted Fame Fire Co. with throwing ground ladders. Engine 52-1 and Air 52 also made the response.
