In the month of January Station 52 had 28 calls for service.

On January 5th crews handled 2 First due building fires. At approximately 10:20am The West Chester Borough Fire Department along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute was dispatched to the 500 block of East Miner St. for the reported House Fire. Engine 52-2 arrived as the first due engine along with Ladder 53. Crews discovered a small fire that was contained to the 2nd floor bathroom. Units operated on scene for just under 2 hours.
Later on in the day at approximately 1:09PM Station 52 was dispatched to the 300 block of North Walnut St for the AFA. The assignment was upgraded to the Building Fire due to a report of smoke in the elevator room. Engine 52-2 arrived as the first due engine and stretched an 1 3/4” attack line. Crews located the source in the elevator room. All units returned available after ventilating the building.

On January 7th Engine 52-2(FF A. Smiley) operated as the First Due Engine in the 100 block of East Gay Street. 52-2's crew stretched a precautionary attack line and assisted Ladder 53 with locating the source of the smoke. Crews determined it to be an HVAC issue and returned available.

On January 13th Engine 52-2(Lt L. Pierson) operated at a working car fire in the 900 block of Paoli Pike

On January 14th The WCFD along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and Goshen Fire Company responded to West Chester University of PA Wayne Hall for a report of smoke in the building. Crews located a small fire in a mechanical room on the 4th floor with a sprinkler activation. Firefighters ventilated smoke from the building and remained on-scene until utilities were secured.

The New Engine Committee for Engine 52-1 traveled to Custom Fire Apparatus Inc. to conduct General inspection/tool mounting on the New Engine.
