Commercial Building Fire in the 53 local

On Thursday at approximately 10:30 AM, Stations 51 (First West Chester Fire Co.), 52, 53 (Fame Fire Co.) and 55 EMS (Good Fellowship Ambulance) were dispatched to the 400 Block of South High St. for the reported Smoke in the Building. Engine 51-2, Ladder 53, Engine 52-2, Assistants 51, 52, 53 responded shortly after dispatch. Crews arrived and investigated reported smoke from the ceiling. Crews found fire in the ventilation system in the ceiling and pulled an 1 3/4" crosslay off of Engine 51-2. Engine 53 secured a water supply and the fire was quickly extinguished. Crews operated for a short time before going available.
