Assisting Station 53 at Trash Truck Fire

On Wednesday at approximately 6:50 AM Station 53 was dispatched for the reported Trash Truck Fire in the 700 Block of S Franklin Street. Assistant 53 went responding and was given the report that the trash truck had dumped the burning trash on the ground. Station 52 was added to the assignment to assist Station 53. Engine 53 along with Assistant 52 arrived and placed and 1 3/4" cross lay in service. Engine 52-2 (Captain P. Widmayer) arrived and gave Engine 53 their tank water, and assisted Engine 53 with Fire Attack. Tanker 52 and Squad 52 also responded and combined with both engines and the tanker, crews used around 4500 gallons of water.
