While returning from a gas leak inside, in the Thornbury Township section of the 53 local, Station 51 was alerted for a second call in the 200 block of North High Street for the unknown type vehicle fire. Initial reports indicated a piece of construction equipment burning, with multiple exposures. Engine 52-2 (FF Smiley Jr.) made the response given this report, along with Engine 51-2. Engine 51-2 arrived and reported a boom lift on fire, that had been partially extinguished by WCPD officers. Engine 52-2 arrived, securing a water supply from the hydrant at Chestnut and High Streets, and the crew went to work assisting Engine 51-2's crew. Engine, Ladder, and Chief 53 then arrived, and the Engine and Ladder were returned to service. The 51 and 52's crew handled a small fuel spill from the lift before returning in about 30 minutes.
