On Sunday, April 16, members of Good Will were kept busy handling three emergencies throughout the day. First, around 1PM, Engine 52-2 was alerted to transfer to Delaware County Station 41 (Newtown Square) while they operated at a fire due commercial fire. Engine 52-2 (FF Smiley Jr.) responded and was on station in DelCo until about 3PM. While returning, the Company was alerted to a house in the 600 block of North Franklin Street for a carbon monoxide alarm. Engine 52-1 (FF Crum) and Engine 52-2 made the response, and arrived to find readings of 140PPM at the front door or the residence. The crews secured utilities to the dwelling, and began ventilation efforts while awaiting PECO's arrival. Shortly after returning to quarters, the WCFD, Tower 54 (Goshen), and Medic 91 (CCH), were alerted to the 800 block of Jordan Road in East Bradford Township for the reported house fire. Engine 52-2 responded first, and arrived simultaneously with Engine 51-1. Engine 51-1's crew stretched a line to the exterior and knocked all the fire running the outside wall. Engine 52-2's crew arrived and forced a door in the garage area, making access to the second floor where the crew found fire running the attic area. Both Engine crews worked together to hold the fire in the attic to just one room, knocking the bulk down in about 5 minutes after arriving. Thanks to Engine 6-1 and Delaware County Quint 53 for covering our local while we operated onscene. Engine 52-2 (FF Smiley Jr.), Engine 52-1 (FF Green), Air 52 (FF Haring), Tanker 52 (FF S. Crum), and Assistant 52 made the response. Photo credit to the original photographers.
