Around 5:30AM on Friday, March 17, the West Chester Fire Department, Rescue 54 (Goshen), and Ambulance 55 (Good Fellowship), were dispatched to the 1100 block of Talleyrand Road for the reported shed fire. Chief 53 made the response as Deputy 54 arrived with a 10'x10' chicken coop on fire. The assignment was quickly scaled back to just WCFD units as Engine 52-1 (Lt. Rychlak) and Tanker 52 (Captain DiMeo) made the response. Engine 51-1 arrived and placed one line inservice, while Engine 52-1 assisted with water supply, and crews assisted with opening up the exposure buildings to check for any extension. Minimal extension was found, and all units cleared in about an hour.
