At 10:40PM, on Wednesday, February 8, the residential fire box was transmitted to the 400 block of West Creek Road, in Pocopson Township, for the report of fire from the roof. Due to the impending snow storm the firehouse was staffed, and Engine 52-1 (Lt. Rychlak) responded immediately after dispatch with a crew of 5, followed by Air 52 (Lt. Davis) with 5, and Tanker 52 (FF Smiley Sr.). While 52 units were making their way across town, Engine 51-2 arrived and confirmed the report, transmitting the working alarm shortly after. Engine 52-1, originally dispatched as the RIT, arrived as the second due Engine Company, and supplied Engine 51-2, while the crew assisted with overhaul. Air 52 and Tanker 52 arrived and staged, while the crews were sent to manpower before being released. The firehouse remained staffed overnight with a crew of 8.
