Around 8:30PM, on Saturday, February 4, the residential fire assignment was dispatched to an address in the 1000 block of Garrett Mill Road in the 54 box area. Deputy and Chief 54 arrived to find fire showing, and quickly requested the working alarm upgrade, as well as the first alarm tanker task force. Tanker 52 (FF Smiley Jr.) was quickly out the door in 39 seconds, followed by Air 52 (Captain DiMeo) just minutes later. The Tanker arrived seconds behind the first due engine company, and FF Smiley Jr., joined the 54/56 crews with getting the first hand line inservice, before opening up. The Tanker Chauffer (Lt. Rychlak) then charged Engine 54-1's supply line, while maintaining a water supply from various other tankers. Air 52 arrived shortly after, and the crew was sent to ventilate the roof, led by Assistant Chief Stafford. The fire was placed under control in about an hour, and units returned to quarters about 2.5 hours after dispatch. Credit to all photographers for the pictures used!
