Busy Start to the Year for WCFD

A brief summary of the events for January and February 2015. The West Chester Fire Department has had a busy start to the year and here is a brief summary.
On January 17, 2015 around 0120 hours the West Chester Police Department reported a building fire at the Pretzel Factory in the 100bl N Church St. West Chester Borough. Stations 51 and 53 were dispatched and responded. Station 52 was alerted to cover a fire alarm at 24 W Chestnut St. which happens to be adjacent to the 100bl N Church St. Crews determined the alarm was due to the fire and the crews assisted 51 and 53 crews with the working fire.
On January 31, 2015 Stations 51 and 53 were dispatched for a house fire in the 300bl W Gay St. Units discovered a working fire and the working fire dispatch was initiated bringing Station 52 and adding RIT, Medics and Fire Marshalls to the assignment. Crews worked for several hours to extinguish the fire and check for extension.
On February 4, 2015 Stations 51 and 53 were alerted to a house fire in the 500bl River Bend Ln. in East Bradford Township. Officers arrived and requested Tanker and Air 52 for assistance.
While cleaning up and clearing the River Bend Ln. fire crews were dispatched to an outbuilding fire in the 1100bl New Jersey Ave. in West Goshen Township. Standby companies from Longwood and Minquas(Downingtown) responded with crews from West Chester to extinguish the shed fire.
