After ending 2014 with 479 calls the New Year started off with the potential for two fires. At 0936 hours the First West Chester Fire Co. was alerted to a fire alarm at the Church Street Towers(West Chester Borough). At 0939 hours the assignment was upgraded to the building fire and this added Good Will Fire Co., Fame Fire Co., Goshen Fire Co. (for the Tower) and Good Fellowship Ambulance. The assignment was upgraded because a resident reported a smoke condition. Assistant 51 Pelna arrived on location and discovered it was a smoke condition due to a cooking issue. Units were cleared 0948 hours. The second call was a reported house fire dispatched at 1140 hours in the 600bl of Woodbine Rd. (Thornbury Township). This was reported as a fire in the kitchen and was reported via an alarm company. Assistant 52 Stafford arrived on the scene at 1148 hours and discovered it too was burnt food and no services were required.
