Around 7:16 PM on Saturday, May 13, Stations 52, 53, and 55 were dispatched to 501 Owen Drive in West Goshen for the appliance fire. Engine 52-1 (Captain Creager) quickly made the response with 7 volunteers followed by Ladder 53 with 4. Engine 52-1 arrived and investigated, only to find a microwave on fire with possible extension. Some of the crew knocked the fire down with a water can while the rest of the crew stretched a 1 3/4 inch attack line and others hooked to check for extension. The assignment was held to Engine 52-1 and all other units were placed available. While Engine 52-1 was wrapping up Stations 51 and 53 were dispatched to the area behind the Willows Apartments at 510 East Nields Street for the woods fire. Engine 53 and Brush 51 arrived to find an area of wood and brush on fire along the railroad tracks. Tanker 52 was then added to the assignment and responded on dispatch with 3 volunteers. As units cleared the woods fire the box alarm was dispatched to the area of Oak Lane and Spruce Lane for the unknown type fire. All units at the woods fire quickly cleared and responded to find a controlled burn and the assignment was placed available.
