On Wednesday at approximately 9:37 PM, the West Chester Fire Department was dispatched to the 100 Block of Penn Oaks Drive for the reported building fire. Asst. 52 and Asst. 53 went responding followed by Engine 51-2, Engine 52-2 (Capt M. Dimeo) and Ladder 53. Asst. 53 arrived to find smoke showing from the rear and directed Engine 51-2 to the rear and to stretch a hand line. Engine 52-2 arrived as the second due engine and began laying a supply line to the rear of the structure to supply Engine 51-2 and Ladder 53. Units found fire in the ceiling and quickly extinguished it, units remained on scene to ventilate and overhaul, going available within a few hours.
