At approximately 1000 hours on 2/11/2010 Chester County DES dispatched for a Task Force deployment. They asked for any available 4 wheel drive vehicles to be deployed to Philadelphia for a special assignment. Chief Cotter authorized Squad 52 for deployment. Lionville Fire Company Deputy Chief Mike Chapman was the Task Force Leader and Deputy Director Beau Crowding was our liaison with Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management. All units reported to the Office of Emergency Management center on Spring Garden St. for assignments. The Task Force's assignment was to supplement the Philadelphia Fire and Police Depts. in transporting diabetic patients. This was due the snow emergency and the strain on existing resources. In all 14 people were transported with the help of the Task Force. The Task Force returned to Chester County and were made available around 1800 hours.
