Passing of Past Chief Philip Giunta Sr.

It is with deep sorrow the Good Will Fire Company No. 2 announces the passing of Chief Phil Giunta.

Please read the printed obituary below for information regarding the services for Phil.


Philip N. Giunta, Sr., 79, of Coatesville, died Saturday, November 20, 2010 at neighborhood Hospice in West Chester.

He was the husband of the late Fay Mentzer Giunta.

Born in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Rosario Giunta, Sr. and the late Mary Lattanzio Giunta.

He was a graduate of West Chester High School and served his country during the Korean War as a Ranger with the 82nd Airborne Brigade and received the Army of Occupation medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

He was a member of St. Agnes Church in West Chester.

"Phil" had been very active in the Good Will Fire Company No. 2 of West Chester since 1954.

He retired from Bell telephone after 37 years of service.

He is survived by two daughters, Cathy M. Rennard, of Gap, PA and Patricia A Quill, of West Caln, PA; One son Philip N Giunta, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of East Fallowfield, PA; three sisters, Sante Aminto, of May's Landing, NJ; Grace Jenkins, of Duluth, GA, and Josephine Carbo, of Downingtown, PA,; three grandchildren, Kevin, Nicklous and Alexander. He was predeceased by six brothers & five sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass, 10:30 am, Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. gay St., West Chester, PA

Interment St. Agnes Cemetery.

Visitations will be held from 6:00 - 9:00 pm, Tuesday, November 23, 2010, and from 9:00 - 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, 410 N. Church St., West Chester, PA 610.696.1181, www.DellaFH.com
