At approximately 0700 hours on Friday, March 23, Engine 52-1 (FF McCarthy) responded to a reported truck on fire at the Wawa, 706 East Gay Street. Upon arrival, the crew found a pick-up truck with a fire in the engine compartment. The vehicle was originally parked at the gas pumps when it caught fire, and was pushed into a parking stall by quick thinking by-standers. The fire was extinguished via the booster line, and the company was available in 30 minutes. Squad 52 (FF Smiley Jr.) also made the response.
