At 18:33 hours on Sunday, July 9, Engine Company 52 was alerted to the 400 block of East Barnard Street for the automobile fire. Engine 52-1 (Lt. Creager) marked up shortly after, as West Chester Borough Police Department officer's were arriving, reporting smoke showing from the passenger compartment and neighbors attempting to extinguish the fire. Engine 52-1 and Chief 53 arrived about a minute later, confirming the report, as the engine crew placed the booster line inservice. All remaining fire was quickly extinguished and units returned in about twenty minutes.
